A basic tenet of marketing is that you must reach your target audience.

So, where are they?

Here are some statistics to help you find them:

  • According to a Pew Research Study on mobile device ownership, as of July 2015, 68 percent of American adults own a smart phone and 45 percent own a tablet.
  • According to new research by eMarketer, 55 percent of all traffic to LinkedIn is mobile, greater than 50 percent of all US mobile phone users will use Facebook by 2016, and 90 percent of US Twitter users will access it via mobile in 2016.
  • Google's article, "The Changing Face of B2B Marketing", notes that in 2014, 42 percent of B2B buyers used a mobile device during a B2B purchase. Furthermore, purchase rates on mobile devices have increased by 22 percent in the last two years.
