If you have ever received an email newsletter that had generic, irrelevant content you know how important it can be to develop interesting, newsworthy articles.

When you’re not sure what to write, it’s tempting to send an update about products and services and current events at your company. Unfortunately, sending irrelevant, generic information to a poorly segmented list will result in low open rates, lots of un-subscribers and a dinged reputation with your audience.

When done correctly, newsletters can help you; spread brand awareness, leverage existing content and include different types of content. However, not everyone needs a newsletter.
